  1. Works exactly as advertised 5 Star Review

It’s a simple device, and works perfectly. Though, I have some ideas for it.

The instructions are clear to disconnect the gas before shaking the CO2 into the water. This is to prevent flowing liquid up into the gas line and fouling the regulator. That is the biggest weakness in this method of carbonating water. What this method of carbonating needs is this:

On either this adaptor or on a custom made ball lock gas disconnect is needed a momentary valve that will only permit gas into the bottle when pressed. This would allow us to connect the gas disconnect to the bottle one time, operate the momentary valve to pressurize the bottle with CO2, release the momentary gas injection valve to shake the bottle, repeat as needed, then disconnect the gas.

Connecting/disconnecting the gas between every cycle of shaking the bottle is clumsy and inefficient.

Working out the cost of 25 pounds of CO2, it costs less than three cents to carbonate a two liter bottle of tap water. This is what you need to know to figure out how many bottles of carbonated water you have to make before you amortize the cost of the hardware and start realizing dramatic cost savings. I can get commercial seltzer for 70 cents per two liter bottle. So, for me, every bottle I make saves me 67 cents. It won’t take many months to recover the cost of the tank, regulator, hoses, and connectors.
